Resignations Spark Unrest in Ajit Pawar’s Party
This comes after an article that was published in the Organiser RSS-affiliated weekly magazine blaming Maharashtra BJP’s poor showing in the polls on the band alliance with Ajit Pawar’s NCP and lack of coordination between the party, the workers, and the NDA government.
For Ajit Pawar‘s NCP, Tuesday was a black day when four leaders of the Pimpri- Chinchwad region resigned from the party. These leaders are all likely to merge with the NCP, which was formed by former union minister and senior politician Sharad Pawar. Other ousted officials are Ajit Gavahane, president of the Pimpri-Chinchwad unit of the party, Yash Sane, a student leader, and former corporators Rahul Bhosale and Pankaj Bhalekar.
Leaders Show Concers
Ajit Gavahane was one of the key leaders who resigned, and his words were, “I resigned yesterday, today we have got some ex-corporators from another Vidhan Sabha constituency, we are going to have a meeting, we are going to decide what tomorrow strategy is going to be like and seek blessings of Pawar Sahab (Sharad Pawar) we will take a decision together.”
The resignations happened when the media indicated that leaders within Ajit Pawar’s faction were plotting to rejoin Sharad Pawar, especially due to the upcoming Maharashtra assembly elections. That is why suppositions on this subject have received more weight amid Sharad Pawar’s recent statements. In June, Sharad Pawar said a person who wanted to harm the party would not be allowed into the party, but ministers who could strengthen the organisation would be given entry.
