Srinagar: Three terrorists were killed in a gunfight in the Panthachowk area of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday, taking the toll of militants to nine in the past 36 hours in three separate gunfights in the Kashmir Valley. The incident also left four security personnel injured including a CRPF personnel.
“Three unidentified terrorists were killed at the encounter site in Srinagar. Incriminating materials including arms and ammunitions recovered”, said a police spokesperson. The news was also confirmed by Kashmir Zone Police through a tweet.
Earlier this month, a terror attack was plotted on a police bus in Srinagar. Kashmir Police said that the slain militants were affiliated with proscribed terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and were involved in the attack on a police bus in Srinagar. One of the accused was identified as Suhail Ahmad Rather, who is missing since November 2021.
In the past 36 hours, security forces have killed three militant in an overnight encounter in Anantnag and three others were killed in a gunfight in Kulgam district on Wednesday evening.
