New Delhi: India recorded 10,488 fresh infections in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate at 98.30 per cent accounted for 12,329 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 3,39,22,037. The daily positivity rate stood at 0.98 per cent, less than 2 per cent for 48 consecutive days.
The number of active cases stood at 1,22,714 accounting for 0.36 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a decline of 2154 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate recorded at 1.35 per cent reported a spike in deaths recording 313 fatalities, taking the cumulative death toll to 4,65,662.
As per the statistics reported to Ministry of Family Health and Welfare, so far 116.50 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in the country , including 67.25 lakh doses given in the last 24 hours. Over 129 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses have been provided to states and Union Territories so far through free of cost channel and through direct state procurement category, the Union Health Ministry said on Saturday. It further stated that more than 21.65 crore balance and unutilized Covid vaccine doses are still available with the states and union territories. It asserted state health authorities to pace up the vaccination campaigns and cover maximum population.
