Thiruvanthapuram: VD Satheesan is set to take oath as Kerela Chief Minister today. This marks the end of a decade-long rule of the Left Democratic Front (LDF) as Kerala embarks on a new political journey with the formation of a 21-member UDF cabinet led by Congress veteran VD Satheesan. This swearing-in ceremony will be held at 10:00 AM in the famous Central Stadium of the state capital.

According to sources, extensive arrangements have been made at the Central Stadium. A big platform has been built for conducting this important ceremony. Considering the large number of people who would participate in the event, temporary rain sheds and seating arrangements have been made to accommodate thousands of party members and politicians attending the function from all over the state.

High-Profile Attendance and Change of Government

It is expected that many top leaders of the Congress party will attend this ceremony. Congress Party President Mallikarjun Kharge, Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra have reached the venue of the ceremony.

The win holds a lot of importance for the party both at the national and regional level. As the UDF managed to reclaim Kerala, winning a majority in the 140-member Assembly, the Congress has further cemented its presence in South India. Kerala thus becomes the third large South Indian state to be ruled by the Congress after Karnataka and Telangana.

Since there are several national as well as regional leaders present, along with the incumbent Chief Minister of the State, Pinarayi Vijayan, heavy security arrangements have been made in Thiruvananthapuram. There would be traffic diversions and heavy security measures during the oath-taking ceremony of the new ministers.
