Filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli has shared a major update on his upcoming film Varanasi, revealing that a significant portion of the shoot has already been completed. According to the director, the film’s large-scale action sequences have been wrapped, with only smaller connecting scenes left to be filmed.
In an interview with Variety, Rajamouli said, “We have completed a major portion of the shoot. All the important big spectacle action sequences are done. We are now into doing the smaller, interconnecting scenes so hopefully, by September, maybe a little bit into October, we should be finishing shooting.”
The update has generated excitement among fans eagerly awaiting the ambitious project. Rajamouli’s remarks suggest that production has entered its final phase, with the focus now shifting from large-scale action to narrative-driven scenes that connect the story.
Varanasi is one of the most anticipated Indian films currently in production, with expectations running high following Rajamouli’s previous blockbuster successes. While the makers have remained tight-lipped about several aspects of the film, the latest production update indicates that principal photography is progressing as scheduled.
If filming concludes by September or early October as planned, the project is expected to move into an extensive post-production phase involving visual effects, sound design, and editing before an official release date is announced.
Fans have welcomed Rajamouli’s latest comments, viewing them as a positive sign that the much-awaited film is steadily moving towards completion.
