Television actor Sanchita Ugale, known for her performances in Kumkum Bhagya and Wagle Ki Duniya, committed suicide on Sunday at the age of 22. According to police officials, the incident occurred at her residence in Nalasopara East on June 14. Family members rushed her to a hospital, where she was declared dead. The Police reached the spot after receiving information about the incident and carried out the required legal procedures and was sent the dead body for the post-mortem examination.
Based on a complaint filed by her father, police registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) under the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) on June 15. The officials said the exact circumstances leading to the incident have not been found yet. Police stated that the matter is being examined from all angles and further investigation is underway.
The news has shocked members of the television industry and fans, many of whom remembered the actor for her growing body of work across television, films and digital platforms.
Sanchita Ugale gained recognition for portraying Diya Tandon in the long-running television series Kumkum Bhagya. She was also known for playing Ruchita Jaitley in Wagle Ki Duniya. Later, she took on the lead role of Sukoon opposite Sorab Bedi in Dilwali Dulha Le Jayegi.
Apart from television, Sanchita also appeared in films and OTT projects. She played the younger version of Tara Rani in the film Chhaava, starring Vicky Kaushal, and was also seen in Silence 2: The Night Owl Bar Shootout featuring Manoj Bajpayee.
