The highly awaited Mirzapur: The Movie is also nearing its release and will put on the screens on September 4. After the successful three-season stint in the 3D circuit, the popular crime saga blends with the big screen and some familiar faces are included in the film, which stars Pankaj Tripathi as Kaleen Bhaiya, Ali Fazal as Guddu Pandit and Divyenndu as Munna Tripathi.
The numbers shared by trade analysts, Mirzapur: The Movie says it has gross advance booked of approximately Rs 3.96 crore across India on Day 1.
It took a total of 7,555 screenings to sell around 1,40,295 of its advance tickets. However, the Hindi version is doing just as well driving most of the collections, which has fetched approximately Rs 3.95 crore from 1,39,923 numbers from 7,510 screens. Its average ticket price is almost Rs 243.
The Telugu version sold approximately 372 tickets at 45 shows for Rs 67,488. The cost of an average ticket is around Rs 154. If blocked seats are added, the overall booking figure comes to nearly Rs 6.23 crore.
The movie also saw changes before it went theatrally before the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) review. The movie was rated ‘A’ and it seems that some intimate scenes were cut out of two scenes and that took up about 35 seconds.
Mirzapur: The Movie is directed by Gurmmeet Singh and is set to be expanded to a bigger screen. Other than that, the cast features the likes of Jitendra Kumar, Ravi Kishan, Abhishek Banerjee, Rasika Dugal and Shweta Tripathi.
Mirzapur started in 2018 and is available after 3 seasons in 2024. All three seasons are available on Prime Video.
