It took several months and numerous postponements, but the film of the stars Ram Charan and Kiara Advani entitled Game Changer released on January 10. The film was on a list of highly expected movies of the year and its release was keenly awaited and was an important event for its fans as well as viewers in the film industry. On the first day, it collected a whopping amount of rupees 51 crores combining all the languages, while its Telugu version collected rupees 41.25 crores. The Hindi version, however, raked in about Rs 7.5 crore on the opening day.
However, the movie faced a slump that reduced the collections by around 57 percent during the first weekend, especially on Sunday. However, it has managed to pick up a little as the week goes by, as evidenced by this movie. It had collected approximately Rs 2.92 crore by the afternoon of Day 4 (Monday), as per early trade estimates. According to industry trackers, it has been around Rs 91.42 crore by Monday afternoon.
Since Monday is a holiday in some parts of the country because of Makara Sankranti, superior business is expected from the evening and night shows. Therefore, it is not far from the reality that Game Changer can achieve Rs 100 crore or more by the end of Day 4.
Similarly, the Telangana Government had earlier given the nod to increase the ticket price of the film apart from allowing more shows. However, the recent setback that the government took was cancelling the permission for the 1 AM screening, which has affected the late-night show earnings of the film. However, the strength of the box office take, further helped herein by the holiday period and more bookings, should keep on pushing upwards.
