Bengaluru: The Indian film industry is in shock after the news of Kannada superstar Puneeth Rajkumar’s death came in. Puneeth died of a major cardiac arrest on Friday and passed away in Bengaluru’s Vikram hospital. He left his wife and 2 daughters. The last tweet from Puneeth was at around 8.30 am, where he sent best wishes to the team of the film ‘Bhajarangi 2’. On October 29, Puneeth Rajkumar was rushed to a private hospital in Bengaluru after he suffered a massive heart attack. Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj S Bommai also checked on Puneeth Rajkumar by visiting the hospital.
He is the son of legendary actors Rajkumar and Parvathamma. He has acted in over 29 Kannada films as the male lead. He started his career as a child artist and even won the National Film Award for Best Child Artist for his performance in Bettada Hoovu in 1985. He won the Karnataka State Award for Best Child Artist for his performances in Chalisuva Modagalu and Yeradu Nakshatragalu. Puneeth became a hero with Appu (2002), after which his fans fondly called him Appu. Some of his famous films include Abhi, Veera Kannadiga, Ajay, Arasu, Raam, Hudugaru and Anjani Putra, among others. He was last seen in Yuvarathnaa, which was released early this year
