Monday’s counting patterns from assembly bypolls resulting in significant leads for the BJP as they exhibited robust trends across Tripura, Gujarat, and Nagaland to date. The INC recorded limited gains across the three states with only one constituency lead in Karnataka.

In the early rounds of counting for the Dharmanagar constituency in Tripura, BJP candidate Jahar Chakraborti held a commanding lead of almost 14,000 votes over his opponent, Chayan Bhattacharya of Congress, according to the Election Commission of India. Turnout for this by-election was high at 79.84%, demonstrating a healthy level of civic engagement through the electoral process.

In the Umreth constituency of Gujarat, BJP candidate Harshad Parmar has taken an early lead ahead of Congress candidate Bhrugurajsinh Chauhan by more than 26,000 votes. Parmar’s candidacy marks a continuation of dynastic politics, as he is the son of the late MLA Govind Parmar, whose death prompted the by-election. While Chauhan is a seasoned politician, the BJP continues to hold onto its predominant influence in the region.

Voter preferences across these states were influenced by candidate selection, local dynamics, and sympathy votes. Counting centres have had heightened security measures in place to facilitate the counting processes.
