The Medical counselling committee is scheduled to announce the MCC National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate counselling dates soon. Eligible candidates can access the MCC NEET counselling schedule on the official website mcc.nic.in.
As per the recently released National Medical Commission (NMC) MBBS seat matrix, the government colleges have offered 63,296 seats while the private medical colleges have declared to provide 73,643 seats an increase by 9,911 MBBS seats in comparison to the previous year. For the current academic year a total of 2,111 government seats have been added.
For students eligible in government medical colleges under the All India Quota for MBBS and BDS the NEET UG counselling is conducted by the MCC while state authorities will conduct counselling for private colleges.
As per state data, West Bengal reports the highest addition with 325 new government seats followed by Chhattisgarh that added 250 seats, neighbouring state Andhra Pradesh added 225 seats while 190 seats were added in Bihar government college. In private colleges Karnataka added 1150 seats followed by Rajasthan which added 900 seats, southern state Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh added 800 seats.
The NTA announced the results for the NEET UG Re-exam on Friday. Around 11.21 lakh students qualified for the national exam out of which only 138 students scored 690 out of 720.
