Ludhiana: In Shimlapuri’s Quality Chowk area, a bike-borne robber violently snatched a woman’s phone, dragging her nearly 100 meters on Wednesday evening. The injured woman, Pramila (56), was rushed to a private hospital, and after treatment, she was discharged. The entire incident was captured on a CCTV camera installed in the vicinity. The Shimlapuri police have registered a case against the unidentified assailant.
Pramila, who was heading to buy groceries from her home, became a victim of the attack near Quality Chowk. During the attempted robbery, the assailant managed to grab half of her phone, while the other part remained in her hand as he fled. The Shimlapuri police’s investigation officer, Ranjeet Singh, mentioned that efforts are underway to identify the suspect, and prompt arrest is expected.
