A reward of ₹10 lakh has been offered by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) for the capture of Anmol Bishnoi, the brother of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.

Recently, Mr. Anmol has attracted everyone’s attention in connection with the ongoing investigation in Mumbai regarding his activities related to a political party. Anmol has been charged in two NIA cases registered in 2022. A shooting incident outside the residence of Bollywood actor Salman Khan earlier this year is another reason why Mr. Anmol is wanted.

The announcement has been made as part of the NIA’s ongoing effort to nab individuals involved in organized crime and related activities. Authorities are urging anyone with information about Mr. Anmol’s whereabouts to come forward. A prominent figure in organized crime, Mr. Anmol has been connected to a number of criminal activities. Authorities say his capture may offer important information about larger networks engaged in illegal activities throughout the area.

The action follows nearly nine months after the NIA seized a number of illicit firearms and ammunition, as well as cash, digital devices, and incriminating documents, in a massive multi-state crackdown in three cases involving the activities and conspiracies of the Lawrence Bishnoi Crime Syndicate and the outlawed Babbar Khalsa International (BKI), among others.

As part of the massive operation, the NIA teams raided 32 locations in January, including Chandigarh, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi. In addition to documents and electronic devices, the searches turned up two pistols, two magazines, ammunition, and cash totaling ₹4.60 lakh.

The cases in which the NIA raided in January were related to terrorist activities carried out by the banned terrorist organization BKI and terrorist-gangster networks operating in the country. This also includes cross-border smuggling of arms and ammunition, explosives, and terrorist hardware like IEDs. Terror hardware is being used by operators/members of terrorist organizations and organized criminal syndicates to carry out bomb blasts, targeted killings, extortion, funding to terrorist organizations, etc. in various parts of the country. A total of seven locations were raided in the case registered by the NIA under UA(P) against the organized crime syndicate being run on the instructions of Lawrence Bishnoi and his associates, including Goldie Brar.

The Syndicate has actively teamed up with Harwinder Singh, also known as Rinda, a “designated individual terrorist,” to expand its mafia-style criminal networks throughout the nation and overseas. In addition to widespread extortions from professionals and businessmen, these networks have been implicated in a number of sensational crimes, including the killings of well-known Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala and social and religious figures like Pardeep Kumar.
