Mumbai: Police have arrested the father-in-law of former Indian cricketer and current TMC MP Yusuf Pathan. Mumbai Police have arrested Yusuf Pathan’s father-in-law Khalid Khan, his son Umarshad and one other. All three have been arrested on charges of assaulting a man named Yusuf Khan. The arrested accused were produced in the court, from where they have been sent to judicial custody till May 2. One accused is absconding in the case and is being searched for.

It is reported that the incident began when a car drove through a pothole in Mumbai’s Byculla area, splashing water. It later escalated into a physical altercation. The four men then assaulted the victim and broke his car’s windshield.

According to reports, a local man named Yusuf Khan was returning home around 9 pm on Saturday (April 18). When water accumulated on the road splashed from his car and fell on a man named Shoaib Khan, a dispute ensued. Yusuf immediately got out of the car and apologized. Despite this, Shoaib continued to argue with Yusuf, which later escalated into a physical altercation.

Shoaib also broke the window of Yusuf’s car with a bamboo stick in anger, seriously injuring Yusuf. When he returned home, his family urged him to file a police complaint. As Yusuf Khan was on his way to the police station, Khalid Khan (Yusuf Pathan’s father-in-law), his son Umarsha, Shoaib, and another accused, Shahbaz Pathan, stopped him and began arguing, leading to a renewed dispute.
