New Delhi. The invitation for the world-famous Bastar Dussehra, which is held every year in Chhattisgarh, has reached Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Bastar MP Mahesh Kashyap made a courtesy call on Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday and invited him to participate in the world-famous Bastar Dussehra. PM Modi accepted the invitation affectionately and assured that he will take out time and be a part of this historic festival.
MP Mahesh Kashyap had come to meet the Prime Minister along with his wife Champa Kashyap and daughter Kshamta Kashyap. During the meeting, Kshamta Kashyap greeted PM Modi with respect, on which the Prime Minister was pleased and presented him a toffee.
On this occasion, the MP also presented a souvenir symbolizing the rich cultural heritage of Bastar to the Prime Minister. Expressing gratitude for the schemes and development works of the Central Government, he said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, the country has achieved many historic achievements in the last eleven years.
Bastar Dussehra is a unique and significant festival celebrated in the Bastar district of Chhattisgarh, India. Unlike the traditional Dussehra celebrations that commemorate the victory of Lord Rama over the demon king Ravana, Bastar Dussehra is dedicated to the local goddess Danteshwari, the chief deity of the Bastar region. The festival spans a period of 75 days, making it one of the longest festivals in the world. It involves a series of elaborate rituals, including the ceremonial installation of the goddess’s throne, the procession of the chariots, and the gathering of tribal communities from across the region. It is a vibrant cultural event that blends Hindu traditions with indigenous tribal customs, showcasing the rich heritage and spiritual beliefs of the local people.
