UP By-Election Voting Live Update 2024:  Voting is going on in 9 assembly seats of UP. Voting has ended from 7 am to 5 pm. A total of 90 candidates are in the fray on all these seats, out of which 11 are women candidates. Whose fate is captured in EVM. During the by-elections on nine seats in Uttar Pradesh, the Samajwadi Party has accused policemen of threatening voters in many places. Taking cognizance of the complaints of the SP, the Election Commission has suspended seven policemen. According to the information, two inspectors Arun Singh and Rakesh Nadar have been suspended in Sisamau. They are accused of misbehaving with voters and violating the guidelines of the Election Commission.

Kanpur Police Commissioner Akhil Kumar said on the suspension of five policemen that we had received information that some policemen were not following the guidelines of the Election Commission. “We had information that some police personnel were not following the guidelines of the EC. Action has been taken against them… Voting is going on smoothly. We had information that people from outside had entered the constituency. Appropriate security arrangements were made seeing to that… The suspension was done after we took cognizance of the tweet (by Samajwadi Party)…” Kanpur Police Commissioner Akhil Kumar said.

  • 57.02% in Mirapur till 5 pm
  • 55% in Kundarki till 5 pm
  • 43.43% in Phulpur till 5 pm

A total of 90 candidates are in the fray

A total of 3718 polling booths have been set up in 9 assembly seats of UP. There are a total of 34,35,974 voters in these nine assembly constituencies, of which 18,46,846 are men, 15,88,967 are women and 161 are third gender voters. A total of 90 candidates are in the fray on all the seats, of which 11 are women candidates. The maximum number of 14 candidates are in the fray from Ghaziabad assembly constituency. At the same time, the least number of five candidates each are trying their luck on Khair and Sisamau seats.
