New Delhi: Delhi Police Special Cell on Thursday busted another drugs trafficking bid and seized around 200 kilograms of cocaine, valued at Rs 2000 crore, from a warehouse located in the Ramesh Nagar area, officials said.

The drug syndicate was busted as the car used to transport the cocaine was equipped with a GPS. The police tracked the GPS location to carry out their operation and seized the drugs, they added. According to media reports, the man accused of bringing the cocaine to Delhi has fled to London.

The police said that the drug consignment was discovered from a closed shop in Ramesh Nagar. The drug was kept inside packets of ‘namkeen’.

With this, the cops have seized a total of 762 kg of drugs, valued over Rs 7,500 crore in a week, making it the biggest drug haul in the country, NDTV reported.

Last week, the Delhi Police had seized over 560 kg of cocaine and 40 kg of hydroponic marijuana, estimated to be worth Rs 5,620 crore. These drugs were confiscated from a godown in Mahipalpur in south Delhi on October 2.

Four people, identified as Tushar Goyal (40), Himanshu Kumar (27) and Aurangzeb Siddiqui (23) and Bharat Kumar Jain (48), were arrested on the spot during the raid, while two others were subsequently held from Amritsar and Chennai. 

“Around 15 kg of cocaine was recovered from the personal possession of Tushar Goyal, Himanshu and Aurangzeb. They were caught when they were coming out of the godown in Mahipalpur Extension to give the supply to the receiver. Remaining marijuana and cocaine were found in the godown. Tushar Goyal is a resident of Vasant Vihar in Delhi while Himanshu and Aurangzeb are his two associates. Bharat Jain, a receiver from Kurla West (Mumbai), has also been caught,” a senior police officer had said.
