Raipur: To come up against the violence that has taken place in Lohridh, Kawardha, the Congress party has called for a Chhattisgarh bandh today. The party workers have now shut down their work and come down to the streets, and they are urging the traders also to join the protest against the violence. Even in various parts of Chhattisgarh Capital, like the vegetable market or Shastri Market, the bandh had almost no impact.
Various senior leaders of the Congress party have also been active while participating in this bandh, including PCC Chief Deepak Baij and Raipur Mayor Aijaz Dhebar. Along with several other Congress leaders, they participated in the same by traveling across various regions such as Shastri Market, Ganj Mandi, Sadar Bazar, Gol Bazar, Bhanupriya, Fafadi, Shailendra Nagar, Civil Lines, and Ramsagar Para on scooters.
They went up to the shopkeepers, urging them to shut down their shops and join the protest against the violence which took place. Fortunately, the Chamber of Commerce did not show their interest in this Chhattisgarh bandh, due to which it had almost no impact in the parts of the state till now.
Afterwards, the PCC Chief Deepak Baij also commented on the situation of the Bandh and why it is being held for the violence that took place in Kawardha. He also emphasized the fact that Congress party workers have now taken to the streets and are urging the workers to close their shops and participate in the Chhattisgarh bandh. He said that the Government has done transfers of various of Police, including the SP and collector, but it has not changed the condition of law and order in the state.
