Raipur: The School Education Department of Chhattisgarh has issued an important notification to review the annual board examination results of class 10th and 12th. In this instruction issued by the Ministry, all the collectors have been advised to analyze the results of government schools in their districts.
Most of the schools have performed excellently in this year’s board examination, but the results of some schools have been disappointing. In view of this, the department has provided a soft copy of the examination results, in which priority has been given to those schools which have a higher number of failed students. This step has been taken for corrective action in the upcoming academic session.
The examination results should be reviewed school-wise, subject-wise, and teacher-wise. Further, for review of results, schools are to be classified into four categories: less than 30 percent, more than 30 percent but less than 60 percent, more than 60 percent but less than 90 percent, and more than 90 percent.
Explanations should be sought from the principals and teachers of schools with less than 30 percent results. Necessary steps should be taken for the solution, and if the solution is not possible, then proposals for action against the concerned officials should be sent to the state government.
Efforts should be made to improve the schools with 30 to 60 percent results by asking the reasons from the principals and teachers. Review should also be done on the basis of a number of students appearing in the merit list and principals and teachers performing well should be encouraged.
Principals and teachers who perform well should be honored on important occasions. The best practices of schools with more than 90 percent results should be shared with other schools. Motivational workshops should be organised for principals and teachers and special teacher-parent meetings should be held for students with poor results.
Education Department Secretary, Siddharth Komal Singh Pardeshi has expressed confidence that this review will improve examination results and increase awareness towards education.
