Raipur: The Former head constable of Raipur CID, Krishna Prasad Thakur, who heads the salary disparity case, did not follow the orders of the High Court. Therefore, the High Court also noticed the IG and SP of CID as the contemnor who would reply to the contempt notice within the shortest possible time.

Krishna Prasad Thakur, a resident of New Rajendra Nagar, was many years ago promoted to the post of constable and is currently serving in the branch of CID (crime investigation department) of the police station. Indeed, during his tenure, the High Court issued an injunction on the basis that a civil servant, who is a member of the lowest category of the public service, is protected from such unlawful demands. The recovery order stayed on that ground, and the court declared that the petitioner, upon retirement, should be obligated to make a full payment without withholding the recovery amount and also all the other benefits.

In the meantime, the respondent, preferring non-compliance with the order issued by the Bilaspur High Court, filed a contempt petition through the project’s advocates, Abhishek Pandey and Durga Meher. The counsel for the petitioners, Abhishek Pandey and Durga Meher, faced the High Court and contended that the act of police officers who arrested and later on refused to disburse the recovered money to the petitioner and rather kept it to themselves was nothing but a gross display of distrust and contempt of the orders given by the High Court.

The surge of the same contempt petitions to the High Court owing to the disobedience of the given orders of the court and the senior IPS officers by the agents of the High Court within the time limits is a dangerous issue. They were of the view that clause 12 of the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971 states that the guilty court may be imprisoned upto six months or be fined up to one thousand rupees 2000/-.
