Raipur: Chhattisgarh’s Chief Minister, Bhupesh Baghel, has accused the government of misusing their powers and eagerly anticipating an opportunity to arrest him. When asked about arrests by agencies like the Enforcement Directorate (ED), which recently conducted raids on individuals, Baghel responded by saying, “They haven’t found any chance to arrest me yet; otherwise would they let it go? They are abusing their powers.”
Baghel further claimed that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) lacks appealing programs for the public and is resorting to tarnishing the image of the Congress government in the state as a result. According to Baghel, after being in power for 15 years, the BJP is no longer prepared for a battle and instead engaged in a campaign against his administration without substantial evidence.
The recent raids carried out by an agency in Chhattisgarh, particularly targeting rice millers, were seen by Baghel as an attempt to disrupt the paddy procurement drive that is set to begin on November 1. He criticized these actions as detrimental to the interests of farmers in the state.
The upcoming Chhattisgarh Assembly elections are scheduled to take place in two phases. The first phase will cover 20 constituencies on November 7, while the remaining 70 seats will be contested on November 17.
