Indore: In the city of Indore, Madhya Pradesh, the district administration has issued orders for licensed weapons to be deposited under the Model Code of Conduct. This is a common practice during elections in India, to prevent any misuse of firearms. The last date for depositing arms has passed, but more than 4,000 licensed weapons have not yet been deposited.
The district administration has expressed concern over the large number of licensed weapons that are still in circulation. They have urged all licensees to comply with the order and deposit their weapons at the nearest police station. They have also warned that strict action will be taken against those who fail to do so.
There are a few reasons why some licensees may be reluctant to deposit their weapons. Some may fear that their weapons will be damaged or lost while in police custody. Others may be concerned about the security of their homes and businesses without their weapons. Still others may simply be reluctant to give up their guns, even temporarily.
However, the district administration has assured licensees that their weapons will be safe and secure while in police custody. They have also stated that the weapons will be returned to licensees as soon as the Model Code of Conduct is lifted.
In the meantime, the MP assembly polls has taken steps to increase security and prevent any misuse of firearms. They have deployed additional police personnel in sensitive areas and have increased patrolling. They have also asked people to report any suspicious activity to the police immediately.
