Bhopal: A Dalit man was brutally murdered after an argument in Madhya Pradesh’s Satna district. The victim’s sister had filed a case of sexual harassment in 2019. The vicitm, Nitin Ahirwar (18) was beaten to death for refusing to refusing to withdraw the sexual assault case lodged by his sister.

There was a debate on not withdrawing this case and then the murder took place. Accused Vikram Singh Thakur first ransacked the house of the victim and then killed him. When the victim’s mother reached to intervene, they stripped her naked.

Madhya Pradesh Police has arrested eight accused including the main suspect. Some of the accussed, including the village head’s husband are still absconding. Police teams are conducting searches at various places to nab them. Nine accused have been named and a case of murder has been registered against three-four unknown people.

According to the Additional Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Uike, ‘a case under Section 307 has been registered against nine people including the main accused. Section 302 and SC/ST Act have also been imposed after the death of the victim in the hospital”. Vicitm’s sister has accused Komal Singh, Vikram Singh and Azad Singh came to her house and trying to persuade her to withdraw the sexual assault case. One accused Komal Singh is still absconding.
