After defeating the Left Wing Extremism, the Security forces went to clamp down the Maoists. They have successfully nabbed 9 Maoists from the Maoists-affected regions which were present in Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh. The successful operations took place within the last 24 hours, as reported by various sources.

In the first operation, the Latehar police acted on specific intelligence and managed to arrest six active members of the Tritiya Sammelan Prastuti Samiti (TSPC), a splinter group of the Communist Party of India (Maoist). The arrests took place in the tri-junction area of Donki-Hesaru-Barwahi at approximately 10:30 PM on May 28.

According to reports, the Latehar Superintendent of Police (SP), Anjani Anjan, received confidential information regarding the presence of Maoist cadres in the Donki trijunction region, falling under the jurisdiction of the Herhanj police station. Acting swiftly, a police team was dispatched to the location. Upon arrival, the area was cordoned off, leading to the successful arrest of six ultras. The security forces also seized arms and ammunition, including a country-made pistol, a three-not three-bolt rifle, and six rounds of live cartridges from the possession of the arrested individuals.

Three individuals of the PLGA (People’s Liberation Guerilla Army) have also been arrested in Chhattisgarh on 29 May. The individuals arrested have been identified as Madkam Deva, a member of Jan Militia, Madkam Jodna, a member of DAKMS, and Soyam Joga, a member of RPC.

Further investigations revealed that all the apprehended Maoist cadres are active members of the banned TSPC outfit. It has been reported that the group had gathered in the region with intentions of carrying out a significant incident.

The successful operations reflect the relentless efforts and dedication of the security forces in combating Left Wing Extremism. These arrests not only neutralize a considerable threat posed by the apprehended Maoists but also serve as a deterrent to potential acts of violence and insurgency in the region. The security forces’ vigilance and coordinated actions continue to play a vital role in maintaining peace and security in these Maoist-affected areas.
