Chhattisgarh: After two months of successfully keeping coronavirus at bay, Chhattisgarh is now seems to battle with the sudden spurt in coronavirus cases. The number hiked after migrants started coming in and nearly 20-25 cases registered daily since the past few days.
On Tuesday, 36 new patients were found positive of coronavirus in the state. With this, the daily count of coronavirus case reached to 50 today—highest one day spike ever registered in Chhattisgarh.
Among the new 36 patients who are found, 23 are in Mungeli, 10 in Bemetra, 02 from Bilaspur and 01 in Raigad district.
With these new patients, Mungeli district has emerged as the worst hit district in the state. So far, 66 patients have been identified here. On Tuesday, the district has registered around 51 cases in a single day.
The number of active patients has increased to 271 in the state. At the same time, a total of 343 people have fallen prey to this virus so far. On a brighter side, 72 people have recovered from the disease.
