New Delhi: India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a heavy rainfall spell over the eastern part of India, including Odisha and Chhattisgarh over the next two-three days. Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana have been issued a yellow alert on Tuesday and Wednesday due to ‘light to moderate rainfall’.
The notice by the weather watchdog read- A trough runs from the Low Pressure Area over Northwest Bay of Bengal adjoining north OdishaWest Bengal coasts to southwest Uttar Pradesh across Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar & East Uttar Pradesh extending upto 1.5 km above mean sea level.”
Meanwhile, the Low-Pressure Area lies over Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining north Odisha-West Bengal coasts. Pats of Vidarbha and east Madhya Pradesh are also likely to witness heavy showers during the coming few days.
As per the notice, fairly widespread/widespread light/moderate rainfall with isolated heavy falls & thunderstorm/lightning very likely over CG from 20-22nd while East and West Madhya Pradesh are likely to recieve rains between 20-23rd September.
