New Delhi: Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia reached a Ghaziabad branch of Punjab National Bank today for the Central Bureau of investigation’s (CBI) search of his locker in connection with its probe into alleged irregularities in Delhi’s now-withdrawn liquor policy. Sisodia was accompanied by his wife.

Manish Sisodia had tweeted about the CBI raids, “Tomorrow CBI is coming to see our bank locker. Nothing was found in the 4-hour raid at my house on 19th August. Nothing will be found in the locker either. Welcome CBI. I and my family will have full cooperation in the investigation”.

A team of about 5 CBI officials reached the PNB branch at Sector 4 Vasundhra in Ghaziabad, on the outskirts of Delhi. Aam Admi Party (AAP) leader is among the 15 people and entities named in an FIR registered by the agency in connection with alleged irregularities in ithe mplementation of Delhi’s Excise Policy 2021-22.

CBI raids Sisodia a day after Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal tweets, “CBI is welcome. We will give full cooperation. Searches/ raids took place earlier too, but nothing was found. Nothing will be found now too”.

Earlier on Monday night, AAP and BJP legislators held overnight protests on the Delhi Assembly premises, amid the ongoing war of words between them on allegations of corruption. MLAs of AAP announced its night-long sit-in against Lieutenant Governor. Meanwhile, BJP MLAs started an overnight dharna on the Assembly premises demanding the sacking of Manish Sisodia and Satyendra Jain over alleged corruption.
