In a first, Congress party leader Rahul Gandhi has extended support tot eh satirical party Cockroach Janta Party after thr attrest of it spokesperson Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka. The statement came after biyh aranka and Das were sent to five days judicial custody for breaching Jantar Mantar.

Taking to X, Gandhi stated that “waving the Tricolour at Jantar Mantar in a peaceful protest is not a crime. Jailing youth for it is an act of cowardice.”The Congress MP added that all protests across India are united by one cause.

In Tuesday morning, CJP activists Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka were detained along with 12 others who breached Jantar Mantar to wave tricolor as a part of their protest against CEC.
The move came a day after the Delhi police denotified Jantar Mantar as the designated protest site.
Das, Ranka and CJP’s national organisation in-charge Ajinkya Shinde were produced before the Special Executive Magistrate at Mandir Marg Police Station on Wednesday morning, where they were sent to five-day judicial custody.
