New Delhi: India recorded 13,734 fresh infections in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate at 98.49 per cent accounted for 17,897 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,33,83,787.
The daily positivity rate stood at 3.43 per cent. The number of active cases stood at 1,39,792 accounting for 0.32 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a drop of 4,197 in the last 24 hours.
However, the mortality rate stood at 1.20 per cent recorded 27 fatalities taking the cumulative death toll to 5,26,430. The 27 new fatalities include six from West Bengal, three from Himachal Pradesh, two each from Delhi, Goa, Karnataka and Punjab, one each from Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Maharashtra, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Odisha, Pondicherry and Uttarakhand.
With the administration of 26,77,405 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 204.6 crore according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Out of the total 93.33 cr beneficiaries have been administered the second dose and 9.28 cr eligible individuals have been jabbed with the precaution dose.
