Britain: Recording the highest temperature in history, the UK administration has begun implementing strategies to carve its way out of future drought, a govt official said.
There are so far no plans for curbs on water use but regulators and water companies are working to manage water levels, including by operating water transfer schemes to allow rivers to be artificially maintained, the Environment Agency (EA) said.
Following the meeting of the National Drought Group, the agency added that farmers in areas prone to drought will be given more assistance as water companies draw up drought potential plans.
