Team India clinched a magnificent win on Thursday in the first T20I match against England in Southampton. With this win, Rohit Sharma becomes the first skipper in the world to lead his team to victory for 13 successive times in T20 Internationals. Rohit Sharma took over the captaincy from Virat Kohli some time back and took the Men in Blue to victory against New Zealand, West Indies, Sri Lanka and now England.

Earlier, Rohit Sharma had to miss out on India’s fifth test against England as he had tested positive for COVID-19. Though India tasted defeat in that test match Thursday’s show at Southampton cheered up the cricket fans. Hardik Pandya was the highlight of the match through his all-around performance which took the team’s total to 198 for the loss of 8 wickets. Men in Blue, after that, stood up as a team against the hosts and scalped important wickets just at the right time of the match.

Debutant Arshdeep Singh and Yuzvendra Chahal took two wickets each and restricted the English side to just 148. The second T20I is scheduled on Saturday in Birmingham as team India leads the three-match series 1-0.
