Raipur: The forest department in Mungeli district of Chattisgarh has started a great initiative under the Hariyali Prasar Yojna. The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate change has ordered to deliever free plant samplings to the residents in the environment awareness drive. Pick up vehicle is being used to make the door-to-door delivery.
Lormi city ranger Diksha Burman said that the scheme of ‘plants at your doorstep’ is an ambitious project of Forest Minister Mohammad Akbar. In this regard, mobile numbers 9399161440, and 7773801209 have also been issued to avail free samplings at your home.
During the drive, District Commandant Sonu Chandrakar, Congress Leader Manish Tripathi and Councillor Salik Banjare were present. Ranger Diksha Burman also states that the department has set a target to distribute 15000 plants through this door-to-door campaign.
The locals lauded the efforts of the forest department and actively participated in the drive. The Ministry’s decision came in the wake of environmental protection and climate change issues and it is believed that this free plant delivery drive will be a great success.
