At least 8 died, 23 went missing and 13 others were injured after a massive landslide occurred nearTupul railway station in Manipur’s Noney district on Wednesday night. Many of those who died belonged to the territorial army that guarded a major railway line construction site.

NDRF and SDRF teams have been deployed to evacuate those inflicted. The district administration had warned locals from steering near the Ijei river which was blocked after debris from the landslide obstructed the flow.
