Uttar Pradesh: Yogi Adityanath today filed his nomination from Uttar Pradesh’s Gorakhpur. This would be the UP CMs first state election, with the BJP using the occasion to project a united front. Union Home Minister Amit Shah accompanied CM Yogi to the Election Commission office.
Prior to his appointment as Uttar Pradesh CM, Adityanath was the Lok Sabha MP from Gorakhpur, the seat which he won five times.
Both the leaders flashed victory signs to the media persons and BJP supporters after the nomination process was completed.
While addressing the BJP supporters in Inter College ground Gorakhpur, the Union home minister highlighted the Modi government’s social welfare schemes like Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, Ayushman Bharat and COVID-19 vaccination drive that helped the people of UP immensely.
A total of 403 Assembly constituencies in Uttar Pradesh are going to the polls from February 10 to March 7, 2022, in 7 phases to elect the MLAs for the next Uttar Pradesh state Assembly. The counting of votes will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2022.
