Raipur: The managers of the Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee of the capital Raipur have warned that if those who insult the Guru Granth Sahib are not arrested, then Raipur will be on strike on December 30th. The Sikh society has given the administration two days’ time. Gurdwara Station Road working president Surendra Singh Chhabra said that demand will be made to meet Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel to take strict action against religious gurus and those who insult the Guru Granth Sahib.
Taking people from all the society together, they will demand to make a new law to give 10 years imprisonment to those who comment against religion. The members of Tatibandh Gurdwara, Baba Budha Sahib Gurdwara Telibandha including Gurdwara Secretary Inderjit Singh Chhabra, Baljit Singh of Chhattisgarh Sikh Organization, Lavi Singh Arora from Pandri Gurdwara expressed their displeasure.
People from the Sikh community said that Ashish Aggarwal, Diwakar, Rakesh Singh and Rajesh Singh had made derogatory remarks on the Guru Granth Sahib in a WhatsApp group. On complaining about this, the police caught the two accused and released them. Two other accused Rakesh Singh and Rajesh Singh are absconding. The people of the Sikh community said that even after complaining, no action is being taken by the police, so they are forced to knock on the door of the Chief Minister.
