Chhattisgarh: Bilaspur police have taken into custody 3 gang members who are accused of taking out money by breaking the shutter lock of an ATM in Chhattisgarh. The accused members are reported to be meddling with the ATM present in the Tarbahar region. This incident was recorded in the CCTV camera installed at the spot. Presently, the gang members are being interrogated by Chhattisgarh police.

The accused members are said to have targeted more than 24 ATMs in various districts of Chhattisgarh such as Korba, Bilaspur, and Raipur. Two days back, the ATM installed near the bus stand of Budhwari Bazar was stolen as well. The members who are linked to this gang used to lock the shutters when the ATM booth was vacant. When the consumers came for money withdrawal, they didn’t receive any. Thereafter, when the consumers left, the gang members used to open the shutter and take out money. 

Rs. 40000 was looted by the gang members from 4 ATMs in the Korba region. The amount was not subtracted from the consumer’s bank account. On behalf of the bank management, its report was put forward by the security in charge of one of the ATM booths, Chandrasekhar. Currently, the gang members are under the custody of Bilaspur police. ASP Umesh Kashyap informed that the three accused members are being thoroughly inquired. The accused are reported to have targeted ATMs in Korba before Bilaspur.
