The SC on Tuesday in an urgent advisory warned citizens about a newly discovered fraudulent website that is an exact clone of its official portal.

The advisory in an alert warns cybercriminals are using fake URL scigovinjudicial.com in a targeted phishing operation tricking citizens into surrendering sensitive personal and financial credentials.

“Cybercriminals through the aforementioned link may attempt to solicit sensitive personal data and confidential credentials of the public. All stakeholders are strictly cautioned against divulging any personal/financial information, as such disclosures may facilitate the theft of data by these perpetrators,” read the advisory issued by the Deputy Registrar.

The perpetrators reportedly have created near identical copies of the portal to decieve users in the name of supreme court. Once a visitor lands on the website, the platforms attempts to extract users confidential details.

Users are strongly advised to follow immediate precautionary measures while visiting any government portals which include inspecting the URLs carefully. Always look for hyperlinks before clicking the destination URL. The SC also informs that it will never solicit personal bank details, passwords, or confidential financial information online.

“Individuals who suspect they have been compromised by this phishing attempt should immediately update the passwords for all online accounts and notify their respective banks to report unauthorised access,” the advisory added
