Preparations for counting votes for the Jaipur Municipal Corporation and 18 other urban local bodies in Jaipur district have been completed, with the results scheduled to be announced on September 14.
For the Jaipur Municipal Corporation’s 150 wards, counting will be held at Shri Bhawani Niketan College of Pharmacy on Sikar Road. The administration has set up nearly 15 counting rooms with 150 tables, where votes will be counted ward-wise from 1 to 150, according to the respective assembly areas and ward numbers.
For the remaining 18 urban local bodies, including two municipal councils and 16 municipalities, 18 counting rooms with 120 counting tables have been arranged at designated schools and other locations across the district.
Jaipur District Election Officer Sandesh Nayak has directed officials to complete all arrangements and ensure coordination regarding the deployment of security personnel and the storage of EVMs. Entry to the counting centres will be restricted to people carrying authorised passes.
The administration has made arrangements for counting at various centres, including Mahatma Gandhi Government School in Kanota, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Community Centre in Vartika, PM Shri Government Senior Secondary School in Jamwaramgarh and Manoharpur, Shri Kalyan Singh Government Senior Secondary School in Shahpur and other designated venues.
The second and final phase of polling for Rajasthan’s urban local body elections concluded on Friday, with a voter turnout of 70.01 per cent across 147 civic bodies, according to the State Election Commission.
