In a fresh development in the case of social media influencer Chandigarh Chand Chandigarh Manjeet Kaur, who was admitted to a hospital after being hit by gunshot wounds, a video of her treatment was uploaded online. Manjeet has reported in the video about the incident, in which someone tried to set her on fire.
In the supposed recording, Manjeet identifies two men who accompanied Shubhi and calls her out on her actions, stating that she was set ablaze by Shubhi, Surjit and the two men. She also urges the administration to deal with those responsible for the alleged attack in the quickest time possible.
Initially Manjeet was taken at a private hospital in Mohali, where he was treated for serious burn injuries. She was then referred to the PGIMER-Chandigarh for further interventions and the video was said to be taken here.
She was reported to be in critical condition for almost three months, and later died from her wounds in the last week of August.
After the woman’s death, police increased its efforts to probe into the incident in Chandigarh. The police said Manjeet’s family initially had alleged she was kidnapped and then burnt.
The video may be significant evidence to help investigators look into the death of Manjeet. Police will perform checks to cross-verify the recording, when and how it was conducted, and will check the statements alleged to Manjeet.
The investigation will now involve determining who was involved in the events portrayed in the video, if at all, and the sequence of events.
