Worms in food, unhygienic meals, and surprise discoveries on the plate have become a norm these days, leaving customers wondering what they are actually being served. Another such disturbing food-related incident has emerged, this time involving a KFC outlet in Greater Noida West. A customer was left in disbelief after he found a maggot inside his deep-fried chicken.

The user immediately took to X to share pictures and a video showing the maggot inside a piece of KFC’s deep-fried chicken. The video was shot at the KFC outlet at Gaur City Mall in Uttar Pradesh’s Greater Noida West.

The video posted by the user by the name @verycommonman1 showed maggots inside the piece of fried chicken. The sight is particularly unsettling given that the item was served as ready-to-eat food.

The incident happened on September 5.

“Horrible @KFC_India. Just got an insect inside your deep-fried chicken, seriously not acceptable at all,” he wrote in the post.

The post, like other intriguing posts, caught traction on X, with the alleged discovery prompting a strong reaction online. The incident also brought KFC India under the scanner.

Taking their stance immediately, KFC India authorities responded by posting a statement on X that read, “Hi, our apologies for the disappointment caused. Please drop in your order ID so our team can contact you to address your concern,” KFC India said in its response.

There has been no public acknowledgement of what was found in the chicken or explanation of how the object may have ended up there.

Taking cognizance of the matter, the Food Safety Department visited the KFC outlet and initiated an inspection after a video went viral on social media. Food safety officer Sarvesh Kumar said the team inspected the concerned store and also attempted to contact the person who circulated the video. Further actions will be taken based on the findings of the investigation, he added.
