After tenants received a voice message, a murder was uncovered in a locked up apartment in Maharashtra’s Thane district, which had been shrouded in mystery for over 2 months after the water leakage from the flat.
For many months, residents of Neelkanth Society at Kalyan had been complaining about water bubbling up in Flat No 104 and entering the common area of the housing societies.
The landlady hosted by the landlord, Ajay Patil, attempted to reach her tenants numerous times but without success. The case went dark when Patil was sent a voice-mail message from the woman against whom the apartment had been rented.
She allegedly admits in the voice recording to killing her lover and that his body is in the bathroom and wants the landlord to dispose of his remains. Patil immediately notified the Manpada Police, which rushed to the flat, broke open the door as it was a locked door.
As part of the investigation, officers located a body in the bathroom in a sack. Initial investigations indicate the victim was struck in the head with a sharp object and thereafter suffered from fatal head trauma.
The persistent water leakage residents reported also has been attributed to police to the purposeful closing of the bathroom tap to scour over bloodstain evidence and wash away the stains. The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
The woman suspected of murdering the third woman was believed to have escaped to Kolkata. She’s the subject of three layabout special police teams sent out to trace and arrest her. Police have opened an in-depth investigation to examine the motives behind he killing and reconstruct the events that unfolded.
