An Indian software engineer who allegedly killed his wife and mailed a photo of the corpse to his longtime lover in India has been arrested in the United States, almost a year after the crime was committed.
On October 27, 2025, the Bellevue Police reported that Avinash Narne, 30, supposedly strangled his wife, Raajitha Sabbineni, 27, at their apartment, setting the scene up to look shady. At first, Narne led police to believe he had gone out for some shopping and returned to find his wife locked up in the bathroom. But the investigators didn’t see anyone else enter the apartment in that time.
Later, the Medical Examiner’s Office determined that Sabbineni’s death was a homicide and that she had died as a result of asphyxia that was caused by strangulation.
In the investigation, authorities found out that Narne has been running a long-term secret relationship with a female in India even after he was married according to the norms under an arranged marriage with Sabbineni in June 2025. Investigators reported the girlfriend had even been to a wedding of the couple.
Police say Narne called his Indian girlfriend several times the day of the murder and posted her with a picture of the dead wife ever since. Investigators also found text messages from Sabbineni where she repeatedly complained that drinks made by Narne were very bitter, even a smoothie on the day she died, which she called “medicine” and “cough syrup.”
Narne’s arrest and indictment for murdering 20-year-old Isabella Rojas-Vidal in Costa Mesa was initiated on July 5. Under the US laws, he has life imprisonment on his conviction.
