PM Narendra Modi also called the people of the nation to take precautions as the heat wave continues, with the warning of keeping themselves safe in the middle of the extreme weather conditions yesterday, on Sunday. During the 134th episode of Mann Ki Baat, the PM urged people to drink water and abide by the directives of the safety guidelines provided.
Most of the country is very hot today, with a lot of hot winds. Self-care is very crucial during the weather conditions,” Modi added.
The Prime Minister also highlighted India’s rich tradition of beverages, which are enjoyed in summers that help beat the heat. He talked about several drinks, including aam panna, lassi, buttermilk, sattu sherbert, kokum sherbert, and sol kadhi, which are all a result of local wisdom and generations of experience.
Modi’s observations followed the Brickell Magistracy meeting held by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the subject of the heatwave, after it was decided to discuss mitigation measures for the heatwave in various States at the Union Cabinet on the event.
In the radio programme, the Prime Minister also congratulated the Indian athletes for their remarkable performance at the National Senior Athletics Federation Competition in Ranchi. He mentioned a particular race of his own in which the national record three times had been broken within a two-day period, the 100-metre men’s race.
Their remarkable performances were acknowledged and celebrated, highlighting the increasing stature of Indian sports at the national level for the sprinters, Gurinder Veer Singh and Animesh Kujur.
Modi discussed the artefacts of the Chola era being returned from the Netherlands, in addition to talking about the heat wave and sports accomplishments, he also pointed out a number of community-led social efforts being executed throughout the country.
Ahead of the World Culture Festival, the Prime Minister reiterated the need to work together to safeguard the cultural heritage of India and create good social transformation, urging people to be active in various activities to build the nation.
