On an operation carried out by the police along with the health department and FDA officers during a late-night raid in New Palam, cheating doctors were apprehended in an illegal clinic in Gurugram that is claimed to have been running in a slum area. Health department officials have once again joined with the Food and Drug Administration police in a late-night raid in New Palam, where people were alleged to be taken aback as they caught cheating doctors in a fake clinic. After the surgery, an FIR was lodged against the alleged operator for practicing medicine without any qualification or licence.
Authorities had obtained tips about the illegal medical practices taking place at “Dr Bengali Janta Sewa Clinic” in Yadav Market, Sector 110, when the raid took place, says Dr. Om Parkash, Medical Officer at DCH Gurgaon, in his complaint.
According to officials, the clinic is being operated by a resident of Nadia from West Bengal, who is staying in New Palam Vihar, Sukumar Biswas. According to the joint team, during the inspection, the clinic had various medical items and equipment being used for treatment.
Authorities recovered used syringes, IV glucose bottles that have been attached with IV sets, medical instruments, and a large quantity of medicines of allopathic origin from there. This recovery was troublesome because of the uncovered medical treatment that could be conducted and expose people to potential health problems.
Biswas was not able to submit any documents of medical qualifications, registration certificate, drug licence, or biomedical waste disposal authorization, according to officials, nor did she possess any records regarding the purchasing and sales of medicines.
The complaint also alleged that the accused had confessed to being the owner of the clinic, even while being asked questions, despite it being non-registered for almost six years.
On the basis of the results, a legal proceeding was launched on behalf of the accused to charge him with violating the law of healthcare and drugs, as well as illegal practices in medicine. The authorities have undertaken a greater investigation to find out how much was going on and if other people were involved in the operation.
