Addressing a massive rally in Bankura, West Bengal, on April 19, 2026, PM Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on the TMC government. He called the TMC a “terrifying time” and the “mother of corruption,” and warned TMC goons against women’s reservation, infiltration, and surrender before May 4 (election results). He said the people’s anger against the TMC’s “ruthless government” is galvanizing. In his address, PM Modi said that to ensure the country’s development, we want more and more women to join politics.
PM Modi further stated that the TMC conspired with the Congress to prevent the passage of the women’s reservation bill in 2029 and that the Congress would be punished. He said that both the TMC and Congress are anti-tribal and fielded candidates against Draupadi Murmu during the presidential election. The TMC breaks every law to benefit infiltrators and provides reservations based on religion, opposing women’s empowerment. The TMC does not listen to the grievances of the Kurmi community, but instead wants to provide reservations to its vote bank.
In his public rally, PM Modi said that I am giving TMC goons one last chance to surrender to the police before the elections, because after the election results are declared on May 4, no one will be spared. The Prime Minister said that the results of the Bengal elections will be historic because the people will end the “fear” of TMC and give a mandate to the “trust” of BJP. At an election rally in Bankura, Modi said that if BJP comes to power in Bengal, it will provide assistance of up to Rs 1.5 lakh to women for building houses under PMAY.
