On Tuesday, Amit Shah said that B R Ambedkar was unequivocal in opposing Article 370 of the Constitution in the name of national integrity of India. In a post published on X on the day of the birth anniversary of Ambedkar, Shah emphasized the role played by Ambedkar as the chief architect of the Indian Constitution and gave him the credit of founding the democratic structure of India that is based on equality and justice.
Shah said that Ambedkar guaranteed equality and equal opportunities to every section of society and always stressed on unity and national integration. He also pointed out that Ambedkar was a great critic of such provisions as Article 370 that provided special status to Jammu and Kashmir, considering it to be contrary to the concept of a single nation.
In the tribute, Shah stated that the life of Ambedkar is still guiding the citizens especially his message of education, organisation and serving the country. He noted that the philosophy of Ambedkar had it that in the context of nation-building and the welfare of the people, challenges are inconsequential.
Shah also on the same day sent greetings on the base day of the Khalsa Panth and the festival of Baisakhi. In another message he wrote about how the Khalsa Panth had been formed by Guru Gobind Singh Ji as a sign of bravery and justice and that they should adhere to the path of truth and fearlessness.
He also added that Baisakhi is a symbol of the toil and efforts of farmers and he referred to them as the pillars of prosperity in India. Shah also wished the people of Tamil Nadu Shabath Tamil Puthandu, and sent his wishes on the traditional New Year of the Tamil community.
The comments were made in a sequence of social media posts to celebrate significant cultural and historical events in the country.
