A major accident occurred in the South American country of Bolivia on Friday (February 27). A Hercules C-130 plane of the Bolivian Air Force crashed in the city of El Alto, near the capital La Paz. 15 people were killed and at least 30 others were injured in the accident. Several videos of the incident are rapidly going viral on social media.

A plane loaded with currency notes crashed in the city of El Alto on Friday evening, causing panic. It is being told that the plane crashed on a busy avenue on the highway amid bad weather. The plane was carrying new currency notes to be transferred to other parts of the country, but crashed on the way.

Various media reports claim the plane was carrying new banknotes to the interior of the country. Citing the Bolivian Ministry of Defense, several media reports claim the crashed plane belonged to the Air Force. Video footage on social media shows a crowd of people at the crash site, picking up money scattered on the ground after the accident.

The cargo plane reportedly crashed shortly after takeoff, damaging about a dozen vehicles on the highway and killing at least 15 people. Photos circulating on social media showed the plane skidding off the runway and hitting vehicles in the neighboring city of El Alto, where it came to a stop in a nearby field. Plane wreckage, damaged cars and bodies were scattered across the road. According to Tovar, at least 15 vehicles were involved in the accident.
