A local court has granted bail to Shivam Mishra, the 26-year-old son of a prominent Kanpur-based tobacco businessman, hours after his arrest in connection with a high-speed Lamborghini crash that injured three people. The court ordered his release on a personal bond of ₹20,000 along with an undertaking of the same amount.

Mishra was taken into custody by Kanpur police following the accident involving a Lamborghini Revuelto, reportedly associated with the firm of tobacco exporter KK Mishra. The incident occurred near Ring Wala Chauraha on Sunday and sparked significant public attention due to the luxury vehicle involved and the severity of the crash.

According to police and eyewitness accounts, the car allegedly lost control while being driven at high speed. It first collided with an autorickshaw and a stationary motorcycle before veering onto the pavement and hitting pedestrians nearby. Three individuals — autorickshaw driver Tauseef Ahmed and two motorcycle riders, Vishal and Sonu Tripathi — sustained injuries in the incident and were provided medical treatment.

Mishra’s counsel, Naresh Chandra Tripathi, told reporters that the court declined the police request for remand and ordered immediate release. He alleged that the arrest was made under pressure and termed it unjustified.

The development comes a day after disciplinary action was initiated against a local Station House Officer over alleged procedural lapses in handling the case. Police officials have stated that further investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is ongoing.
