West Bengal Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, made her warm wishes to party workers and well-wishers on the Foundation day of All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) insisting on the fact that the party has always been very serious in its philosophy of Ma-Mati-Manush (Mother, Motherland, and People). She reiterated the commitment of the party to serve the interests of ordinary citizens and promised to carry on the battle against those forces that aim at eroding the democratic principles.
On X, Banerjee remembered how the TMC was founded this day in 1998 with the guiding principles of the party. The Trinamool Congress was started with the purpose of serving Ma-Mati-Manush. The honour of the motherland, the growth of Bengal and the safeguarding of the democratic rights of the people have been the main thrust of our historic journey, she said. Banerjee thanked and showed her respect to the significant number of workers and supporters of the party who have dedicated and sacrificed to keep the party going throughout the years.
She also reiterated that the Trinamool Congress still derives strength out of the faith and people support. The Trinamool Congress family is today blessed with grace, love and prayers of many individuals. We are confident that, with your consistent support as our bread-winner, we shall fight to the end on behalf of all the people in this great democratic country. We will not submit to the wicked power and regardless of all hostility, our warfare on behalf of the common people would be a life long one, she said.
TMC General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee also delighted in the occasion by declaring that the party reiterates its commitment to be next to the people renewed its commitment to democratic values and grassroot governance.
This was a Foundation Day in which the party glorified its decades long experience, which made public service, social well-being, and protection of civil liberties central.
