President Droupadi Murmu will be visiting Jharkhand today to be given the opportunity to attend the inter-state folk cultural congregation, Kartik Jatra, which is being held at Manjhatoli. In her itinerary, the President will go to Jashpur district of Chhattisgarh, first and then continue to the venue of the event, which is in Jharkhand, by road.

On landing on the Aagdih airstrip in Jashpur, President Murmu will cover a distance of about 21 kilometers on road to Manjhatoli. Kartik Jatra is an important cultural show which glorifies the culture and heritage of the people of the region and a number of top leaders will find themselves in the program. The Chief Ministers of Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Odisha will be invited to the ceremony which will underline the cultural significance of the event at the inter-state level.

Considering the arrival of the President, sophisticated security checks have been made at the airstrip of Aagdih and the route of travel. An adequate number of police force has been deployed and high levels of security done at all the points to make the visit smooth and safe.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai will also be a guest in the programme and is expected to travel to Jashpur on the occasion. As per his programme, he will offer flowers at the statue of late Kartik Oraon at 11:20 am. After this, at approximately 11:40 am he will arrive at Bagicha-raidih to attend the inter-state folk cultural congregation.

The role of the President and three Chief Ministers is likely to provide the Kartik Jatra with the national level that is the symbol of unity, cultural harmony, and common heritage between Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand as well as Odisha. It will probably become an occasion of enhancing local culture and promoting collaboration between states and exchange of cultures.
